David addressed how nations could be provided opportunities for development while managing their carbon footprint, and highlighted technologies, such as Carbon Capture and Storage,that can help the world achieve net zero emissions.
The lecture saw the attendance of some 70 C-level executives, directors and heads of academia.
Mark Gainsborough, Shell Executive VP, Global Commercial,gave the welcome address, highlighting Shell’s successes in Singapore over the last 125 years. This included the presentation of the Honorary Partner in Progress award by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong in 2014. The Dutch Ambassador Jacques Werner was also invited to deliver a speech on the Dutch Sustainable Growth Coalition – a coalition introduced in 2012 that aims to jointly drive and promote sustainable growth business models.
