Shell Helix Ultra is made from natural gas with Shell PurePlus Technology. It is born 99.5% pure designed for ultimate engine performance.
Base oils are made from crude oil have molecules with weaker bonds compared with PurePlus base oils. These weaker bonds can break more easily when attacked at high temperatures.

Extreme Heat: Engines can reach extreme temperatures within a few minutes. Oil is lubricating the turbocharger which operates at temperatures up to 1,000°C. High-temperature oxidation can damage molecules, causing the oil to thicken, and reduces its ability to protect the engine.
