Desmond Cheang, Shell Marsiling and Woodlands Stations, EXSA Star Award 2016 and 2017
Desmond is the first Shell service champion to clinch the prestigious EXSA Star Awards not once, but twice in a row in 2016 and 2017. He achieved these accolades by not sticking to his job descriptions – but to go the extra miles every time he is on duty.
Desmond treats every Shell customer like a guest at his home. To him, customers’ convenience is always his top priority. Apart from ensuring a safe and smooth experience, Desmond also shares the latest customer promotions and offers. Desmond goes to distance to delight Shell customers with thoughtful touches, such as creating a local map to help disoriented drivers to find their way to Woodlands Industrial Park quickly; and providing umbrellas to make sure customers do not get wet using the station facilities during stormy days.
By delighting customers’ journeys in his 18-year career working at Shell stations, Desmond has also improved his own life journey. He has now grown to become a senior Station Manager looking after 2 Shell stations.
