Since 2016, Shell has been inviting university students to imagine the future of more and cleaner energy in Asian and Middle Eastern cities and how it will change the way we live, work and play.

Imagine existing more in the metaverse than in the real world. What about living as communities in huge air domes so you will always have clean air? Or commuting in all-terrain vehicles because of rising sea levels?

These were some of the ideas in the scenarios Singapore teams from the local universities created of Seoul, Jakarta and Ho Chi Minh City in the year 2050.

Emerging as champions was Team Zhe Kai from Nanyang Technological University, who imagined possible futures for Ho Chi Minh City. Team Zhe Kai will proceed to compete in the regional finals later this year.
