Contributing to sustainable development is integral to the way we do business. As we work to help meet the world’s growing energy needs we aim to bring benefits to local communities and reduce impacts of our operations, including tackling greenhouse gas emissions. We look after our people and our core values of honesty, integrity and respect for people have been laid out in the Shell General Business Principles for over 30 years.
The New Energy Future
A new energy future is dawning. It will be powered by multiple energy sources, from cleaner fossil fuels to renewables. The world will be on the road to sustainable mobility.
Environment
Meeting the world’s growing energy needs and protecting the environment requires new technology, partnerships and ways of operating. We continually look for ways to reduce the environmental impact of our operations.
Sustainability report
We have published the Shell Sustainability Report since 1998. We do it because of our commitment to being transparent and honest, and our commitment to contribute to sustainable development by delivering responsible energy.
Society
As a corporate citizen, Shell contributes actively through its various social investment programmes.
Safety
Safety is always our first priority. We aim to have zero fatalities and to prevent incidents like spills, fires, and accidents. We are working to ensure compliance with our safety procedures and tackling the cultural issues that can lead to unsafe behaviour.
