Warning: E-mail scam - Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) USD$1,200,000.00 prize

It has come to our attention that members of the public have received e-mails notifying them that they have won USD$1,200,000.00 through a promotion organised by Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC).

Typically, the e-mail claims that SPDC is the organiser of this competition and prize-winners need only pay a “courier company fee” of USD$150.00 to claim their prize. These e-mails may include fake “reference” or “ticket” numbers, or the names and contact details of alleged Shell staff to appear convincing.

Please note that such e-mails do not have any association with SPDC or any Shell company. Members of the public are advised not to reply to these e-mails or respond to unsolicited business propositions.
