Warning: E-mail scam - Shell Petroleum Award $5.5 million prize
We have been notified of e-mails circulating on the Internet informing recipients that they have won a $5.5 million cash prize as part of an “on-going Shell Petroleum award”.
Typically, these e-mails ask recipients to contact a “Claims Processing Officer” with their personal contact details. The e-mail may include a fake “verification number”, or the names and contact details of Shell staff to appear convincing.
Please note that these e-mails are scams and do not have any association with any Shell company. Members of the public are advised not to reply to these e-mails or respond to unsolicited business prepositions.
