Goh Swee Chen, Chairman, Shell Companies in Singapore

Goh Swee Chen has been the Chairman of Shell Companies in Singapore since October 2014. Concurrent to her Chairman role, Swee Chen is also Vice President, City Solutions – New Energies, a role she assumed from January 2017. She spent a large part of her career leading significant businesses with multinational teams across the world. Swee Chen also has a diverse professional background having spent her career in IT, Real Estate and running P&Ls in Consumer Goods and Oil & Gas industries.

Emily Tan, General Manager, Asia and Middle East, Shell Bitumen

Emily Tan is the General Manager, Asia and Middle East, for Shell’s Bitumen business. Shell Bitumen has presence in 10 countries in Asia and the Middle East, and is recognized as a market and technology leader in Bitumen. Emily joined Shell in 2008 in the Chemicals business, where she was the Commercial Manager for two key product lines in Chemicals.  Prior to Shell, Emily has a diverse range of experience in various industries. She has headed marketing in a regional bank and started up a company in technology commercialisation. She started her career with the Economic Development Board of Singapore, where she attracted foreign direct investment into Singapore, and negotiated the Free Trade Agreements on behalf of the government.

Emily has an MBA from INSEAD, a Masters from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a bachelor degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, both in Electrical Engineering.

Stephen Fowler, General Manager, Shell Jurong Island

Stephen Fowler is the General Manager of Shell Jurong Island in Singapore and assumed his current role in May 2013. Outside of Shell, he is on the Board of Directors for the Singapore Chemical Industry Council. Stephen has held a variety of roles in Shell’s European Manufacturing, Canadian Upstream and Global Projects and Technology businesses.  In these roles, he has managed large assets, delivered technical solutions to customers, led marketing and business planning, managed customer accounts, business strategy and improvement projects.

As a Founding Partner (with Professor Gary Hamel) of Strategos, he focuses on developing and implementing game-changing growth strategies, new venture design and acceleration, and complex organisational transformation with both Fortune 1000 and entrepreneurial growth companies.
